NIAGARA FALLS - Diplomas were awarded Thursday to 27 Niagara Falls High School seniors who completed the academic requirements for graduation during the recently ended session of summer school.

"You now are officially members of the graduating class of 2012," School Superintendent Cynthia A. Bianco told the graduates assembled in the city school district's Administration Building at 630 66th St.

High School Principal James Spanbauer congratulated the graduates, their parents and guardians who were among the audience.

The graduates, some of them wearing traditional caps and gowns, occupied the first few rows of seats in the board's auditorium, while their friends and relatives filled most of the rest of the room for the brief ceremony.
