Two Niagara County women suspected of assisting a man and another woman in a weekend robbery in Lockport were arrested by police in Niagara Falls, Lockport police reported Tuesday.

Chelsee Williams, 18, of the Niagara County Community College dormitory, and Ashley Bivins, 21, of 21st Street, Niagara Falls, were charged with robbery, assault and conspiracy.

The two allegedly helped two others - James McClendon, 50, of 21st Street, Niagara Falls, and Jessica A. Burgess, 28, formerly of Lockport - hold up the night clerk of the Gulf Gas Station on Walnut Street in Lockport just after midnight Saturday.

Niagara Falls police assisted Lockport authorities in the investigation that led to the arrests of Williams and Bivins. A short time after the alleged holdup McClendon and Burgess were arrested by patrons of a nearby tavern.
