Buffalo police Tuesday reported the arrests of Daqune Lee Gerald, 20, and a 16-year-old male for their alleged roles in the violent mugging of a man robbed of $400 and a cell phone early Sunday morning on Georgia Street.

Gerald, no address listed, and the juvenile were captured by Officers Hiba Khai, Kristen Langdon and Stephen Schultz on Carolina Street shortly after the 1:55 a.m. mugging. Police said the victim tried to flee his assailants after one of them pulled a handgun on him but he fell and they all began kicking him and took the cash and cell phone from his pockets before police got to the scene. Gerald and the juvenile are charged with second-degree robbery. Gerald is separately charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.
