By chance, the suspect in a Sunday morning knifepoint robbery was arrested at the scene of his alleged crime about 18 hours after the incident, Buffalo police reported Tuesday.

Carl Graves, 52, was charged with first-degree robbery and criminal possession of a controlled substance after he was arrested at Grant Street and Ferguson Avenue about 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

Graves was arrested after a woman who told police she had been robbed of $20 at knifepoint by Graves at the same intersection about 12:30 a.m. Sunday spotted him there Sunday night and called 911. When he was taken into custody, Graves still was carrying the knife he allegedly used in the robbery, police said. Arresting officers said they also found Graves with crack cocaine and a crack pipe.
