A woman was arrested after being accused of slashing another person with a knife during an argument in a West Amherst home, Amherst police said today.

Berdenia Swain, 51, no address listed, was charged with second-degree assault, second-degree menacing and weapon possession after allegedly slashing another person across the face with a knife during an argument that turned into a fight.

The incident occurred in a Sundridge Drive home.

Police said the unidentified victim suffered a cut to the face, but that the injuries were not serious.
