LOCKPORT - City police arrested two men and said they found one carrying a knife after a report of a knife fight just after midnight Sunday in the 100 block of East Avenue.

Richard A. Barron, 26, of Union Street and Steven J. Wright, 22, of Corinthia Street were charged with second-degree obstructing government administration and disorderly conduct. Barron also was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Police said they responded to a report of a knife fight and saw three men flee the scene after they told them to stop. Barron and Wright were located and the third suspect was not found.

Barron was found with a camouflage knife in his pants pocket police said.

Both men told police that they were chasing a man who had tried to rob them, but police said they later learned that the two men tried to purchase pills from the unknown suspect and chased him when he fled with their money.

The two were arraigned in City Court Monday and released on their own recognizance.
