The Springville Griffith School Board ratified a contract with district administrators that calls for no raise the first year, a 1.25 percent raise the second year and a 1.5 percent raise the third year.

The contract is effective July 1, 2012, through June 30, 2015, and affects nine administrators.

However, the Springville Griffith Teachers Association has yet to reach an agreement with the administration on its contract. Monday, Superintendent Paul Connelly said talks are ongoing. The former agreement with the teachers union expired in 2010.

In other matters:

. Plans to refurbish tennis courts at the high school are under way after the School Board agreed to use residual funds from a previous capital project to fund the work.

The superintendent said the courts had been deemed "unplayable" by Section VI officials because of the broken surface. He said practices for both the girls and boys teams have taken place at the Village of Springville municipal courts. The school district's "home court" for the time being is at Pioneer Central High School because that district doesn't have a fall tennis season.

In the Springville district, the girls tennis team plays in the fall, and the boys season takes place in the spring.

Connelly said the target completion date for the work, expected to cost about $200,000, is the spring.
