Erie Community College's offense racked up 307 yards and the defense accumulated nine sacks as the Kats earned their first win of the season Saturday.
The Kats beat Alfred State, 30-7, in a Region III matchup at Jim Ball Stadium.
Freshman running back Jacom Wims ran for 102 yards and had a 14-yard touchdown run.
Erie took the opening kickoff and constructed a 12-play, 62-yard drive that ate up over six minutes and was capped with a 5-yard touchdown pass from Will Robinson to Nicholas Jones (West Seneca West).
The Kats added a 45-yard field goal by Tyler Blackburn to take a 10-0 halftime lead.
The defense got into the scoring act in the third quarter when Dorian Polk (Lockport) returned an interception 40 yards for another score. Polk finished the day with a pair of interceptions.
Wims' 14-yard TD run in the third gave ECC a 23-0 lead.
Alfred State got on the board when Shawn Charles returned the ensuing kickoff 90 yards. Robinson added another touchdown, a 3-yard run, to close out the scoring.
Derrick Peters finished with 99 yards rushing while Ken Robinson had six tackles, including 2 sacks.
ECC will host No. 13 Nassau CC at noon next Saturday in a Northeast Football Conference matchup.
