NIAGARA FALLS - Police investigated two car break-ins Saturday- both involving the theft of big-ticket items.
A touch-screen stereo unit valued at $1,200 was taken from a car parked behind a Mackenna Avenue home. Door and trunk locks were damaged and a speaker box and amplifier also stolen, police said. The loss was estimated at 2,500.
A Lincoln Navigator was broken into between 4 and 4:30 a.m. while parked in front of a Ninth Street home, police said. A passenger window was broken out and a camcorder and laptop computer were taken. The loss was put at $2,000.
