Coming attractions
. It's 1 vs. 2 among small schools as Week Five of the football season approaches. No. 2 Depew visits No. 1 Alden for the Bulldogs' homecoming on Friday at 7 p.m. The game is a rematch of last year's Section VI Class B final won by Alden, 12-0. The game will likely decide the title in Class B East as it did last year. Alden handed Depew its only two losses of last season.
. In the Monsignor Martin Association, St. Mary's plays at Bishop Timon-St. Jude for the Tigers' first home game at 7 p.m. Friday; St. Joe's heads to Rochester to face Section V power Aquinas at 7 p.m. Friday.
On Saturday St. Francis plays Canisius at the Crusaders' Stransky Complex in West Seneca at 1 p.m. With a win, Canisius would move to 5-0, its best start since 1980. The game will be the first of three straight at home (St. Francis, Aquinas, Cardinal O'Hara) after having been on the road the last three weeks (at St. Mary's, at McKinley, at Walsh Jesuit).
. The Albion boys soccer team (6-1-1) travels to Akron today in the Niagara-Orleans League. On Thursday, East Aurora, ranked No. 1 in the state in Class B, hosts Maryvale at 4:30 p.m. Also Thursday, No. 8 Lake Shore hosts Amherst at 6:30 p.m. On Friday, No. 1-ranked large school Clarence will host Williamsville North at 5 p.m. There are three noteworthy games on Saturday: Williamsville North hosts No. 9 Lancaster at 10 a.m., No. 4 Williamsville South hosts Iroquois at 10 a.m. and Kenmore West hosts Lew-Port at 11 a.m.
. In girls soccer, No. 1 ranked large school Orchard Park hosts West Seneca West today and Jamestown on Thursday, both games at 5 p.m.

. The Williamsville North (4-0) girls volleyball team travels to Orchard Park (3-1) on Thursday at 7 p.m. The Eden Tournament is Saturday. The 12-team field includes defending champion St. Mary's, which beat Williamsville North in last year's final. Lake Shore will host its first tournament.
