Voting is currently open through Tuesday for the Vision Art Awards, the online art competition that supports, celebrates and encourages local and regional artists being held by 464 Gallery (464 Amherst St.).
A total of 288 images of works by Western New York artists can be seen on the gallery's Facebook page: Voting is counted by "liking" the images. The exhibit opens to the public in the gallery from 6 to 11 p.m. Sept. 28, at which time winners will be announced. The exhibit will be on view through Oct. 9.

Forest Lawn will hold auditions for the original holiday production "It Was a Wonderful Life" from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 24 in the Kavinoky Theatre (320 Porter Ave.). The Lancaster Opera House will hold auditions on Oct. 21 and 22 in the Lancaster Opera House (21 Central Ave., Lancaster) for the upcoming productions of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" and "Oklahoma!" Organizers for the Niagara Electric Lights Parade are accepting entries for the parade honoring the 200th birthday of the Town of Niagara. The American Legion National Convention held its 2012 National Concert Band Contest in Indianapolis on Aug. 25, where the American Legion Band of the Tonawandas was awarded top honors with a score of 95.00.
The band, performing under Music Director Michael Shaw, took first place in the contest, earning the 2012 National Championship Title.
