There must be something about men in makeup. This summer's glam-rock package tour teaming New York City-born blood, brimstone and boogie merchants Kiss with Los Angeles hair-metal offspring Motley Crue already has proven to be one of the most successful hard rock package tours of summer 2012. After cranking away all through June, July and August, the mega-pairing winds down with its last few shows, one of which happens to take place at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center.
Seasoned fans of the bands will be happy to know that both Kiss and Motley Crue have fashioned classics-heavy set lists largely comprised of songs from their peak albums. And, if you happen to be attending your first Kiss concert, or perhaps are bringing your kids to their first Kiss concert, rest assured - you'll get the whole pyrotechnics-heavy, fire-breathing, blood-spurting deal from Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley and Co. Reports from the summer jaunt suggest that the Crue can still bring it, too.
Tickets for Kiss and Motley Crue, with guests the Treatment, are $35 to $185 (www.livenation.com).
