Former Sabres Phil Housley and Rob McClanahan are returning to Buffalo this month. The pair will serve as opposing coaches in the inaugural All-American Prospects Game on Sept. 29 in First Niagara Center, USA Hockey announced Wednesday.
The event features 40 of the top American-born prospects eligible for the 2013 NHL draft. Three Western New Yorkers are scheduled to play: Justin Bailey of Williamsville; Sean Malone of West Seneca; and Matt Lane of Rochester. Housley played for the Sabres from 1982-1990. McClanahan, a member of Team USA's 1980 gold-medal team, spent two seasons in the Sabres' organization.
