A man who apparently lost his nerve after climbing to the top of a bridge over Cazenovia Creek at Orchard Park Road and Seneca Street in West Seneca stopped traffic briefly Wednesday evening when he had to be rescued.
Anthony Jividen, 26, of Lackawanna was rescued by Seneca Hose Fire Company firefighters and taken to Erie County Medical Center for a mental health evaluation, West Seneca Police Lt. Michael Poleon said. Jividen had climbed to the top of the metal girder bridge shortly before 7 p.m. - about 30 feet above the ground and 70 feet over the creek, police said.
Jividen scaled the bridge to "check out the view" but got cold feet when he reached the top, Poleon said. He was charged with one count of reckless endangerment in the second-degree, one count of criminal nuisance in the second degree, one count of trespass and one count of disorderly conduct,
