LOCKPORT - A Ransomville man who has been arrested for drunken driving four times without serving jail time broke that streak Monday.
"I think you need a little taste of it," Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas told Shawn G. Reid, 39, of Ransomville Road. She ordered that the first six months of Reid's five-year probation term be served behind bars.
Reid pleaded guilty to felony driving while intoxicated in the wake of a Dec. 8 arrest in Lewiston.
Also Monday, Farkas placed Ezra C. Garner, 48, of 21st Street, Niagara Falls, on five years' probation for attempted third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Garner pleased the judge by checking himself into drug treatment in the wake of his Sept. 29, arrest, when police raided his home and seized more than an ounce of cocaine.
