G. Howard Newbury, a longtime church superintendent, died Sept. 1 in his Buffalo home. He was 85.
Born in Buffalo, Mr. Newbury was a graduate of East Aurora High School and the Crown School of Business.
He served as superintendent of buildings and grounds for Baker Memorial United Methodist Church in East Aurora from 1954 until 2000. He also was a gentleman blueberry farmer.
Survivors include his wife, the former Phyllis McCausland; two daughters, Grace Molyneaux and Glo Hope Newbury-Smith; a son, John; six stepsons, Douglas, Stephen, Peter, Paul, Andrew and Philip Graham; and two stepdaughters, Susan Chiappone and Jennifer Graham.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Oct. 13 in Baker Memorial United Methodist Church, 345 Main St., East Aurora.
