One adult and one child were taken to the hospital for treatment of burns they suffered in an early-morning fire that forced residents to flee from their Lovejoy-area home, Buffalo fire officials and witnesses reported.
Firefighters responding to a 3:01 a.m. alarm at 326 Benzinger St., east of Bailey Avenue and south of Broadway, found one victim on the lawn, witnesses and fire officials said.
The fire, which broke out on the second floor, left $45,000 damage. The cause remains under investigation.
The Red Cross was called to assist at least four adults routed by the fire.
