LOCKPORT - Jeffrey J. Farrell Jr., 23, of Washburn Street, pleaded guilty Thursday in Niagara County Court to aggravated criminal contempt for violating a restraining order a woman had obtained against him.
Farrell, who was arrested June 30 after entering the Town of Lockport home of the mother of one of his children and allegedly choking her, was promised a sentence of five years' probation to begin with six months in jail. Farrell already has served two months. County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas will make the sentence official Nov. 7.
Farkas imposed the same sentence Thursday on Samuel C. Haynes Jr., 30, of Haeberle Avenue, Niagara Falls, who had pleaded guilty to attempted third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Haynes was arrested Aug. 2, 2011, in a police raid on his former home on 22nd Street in the Falls. Police found 1.5 ounces of cocaine, a loaded handgun and $1,717 in cash, which Haynes had to forfeit.
