Erie County will hold three citizen forums this month to help determine the needs and priorities of low- and moderate-income residents who live in 34 towns and villages that comprise the Erie County Community Development Block Grant Consortium.
Information gathered at the public meetings will help the county's Department of Environment and Planning prepare its 2013 community development application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The meetings will be held at:
. 7 p.m. Monday, Tonawanda City Hall, Court Room, 200 Niagara St., Tonawanda
. 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, Lackawanna Public Library-Community Room, 560 Ridge Road, Lackawanna
. 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, Boston Town Hall, 8500 Boston State Road, Boston
The forums will serve as countywide public meetings for Erie County's Community Development Block Grant, Emergency Solutions Grant and HOME Investment Partnership programs. The meetings will cover four areas: housing, public and human services, community and neighborhood development and economic development. They will also include a review of community development program performance.
The consortium is comprised of 34 municipalities, excluding Buffalo, the towns of Amherst, Cheektowaga, Hamburg and Tonawanda and their villages.
