A Brant motorcyclist was arrested after he was discovered carrying a loaded handgun during a traffic stop early this morning, the Erie County Sheriff's Office announced.
Deputy Jonathan Hanna pulled over Richard C. Scinta, 21, of the Town of Brant shortly after 2 a.m. on Mile Strip and Versailles Plank roads in Brant.
The deputy discovered the loaded handgun, along with some mariujuana.
Scinta was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, unlawful possession of marijuana, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motorcycle, operation of a motor vehicle without insurance, operation of an unregistered motorcyle and a motorcycle helmet violation. He was also cited for having no horn and insufficient lights on the motorcycle.
In addition, Scinta was wanted on an outstanding warrant out of Gowanda for petit larceny.
He was arrested and transported to the Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment.
