LOCKPORT - A year in state prison was the sentence Wednesday from State Supreme Court Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr. for a Lockport woman who violated the terms of her probation on a drug charge.
Frances A. Black, 47, of Saxton Street, had pleaded guilty in January to a reduced charge of attempted fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance for selling Xanax to a police informant in Lockport May 25, 2011.
In another Lockport drug case before Kloch Wednesday, Jessica R. Broughton, 22, of Crosby Avenue, pleaded not guilty to an indictment charging her with third-, fourth- and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance as well as fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana. Police allegedly found cocaine when they raided her apartment May 4.
