The Buffalo Bandits have a busy first weekend on their 2013 schedule.
The Bandits will open the 16-game season on Friday, Jan. 11, when they play in Philadelphia. The following night, Buffalo comes home to take on the Minnesota Swarm in the First Niagara Center. It's the first of two back-to-back sets of games on the schedule.
The Bandits will play Rochester four times, while taking on Toronto and Philadelphia three times each. They will play Colorado and Minnesota twice, and Washington and Edmonton once each. It will mark the first time that Edmonton has ever played in Buffalo. Calgary and Buffalo will not meet in the 2013 regular season.
Veteran defender Chris White, who left the Bandits late last month to join Toronto, will play in Buffalo with his new team for the first time on Feb. 2.
The National Lacrosse League's schedule will open on January 5, when defending champion Rochester plays at Washington. The season runs through April 20. The playoffs begin the following weekend, with a champion scheduled to be crowned on the weekend of May 10-12.
Games will be shown on the CBS Sports Network; the schedule will be announced at a later time. No date for a league All-Star Game was announced.
