The 2012 edition of the University at Buffalo's annual Fall Fest is upon us, signifying an end to summer (sniff, sniff) and the commencing of another school year. The show takes place beginning at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Baird Point on the university's North Campus in Amherst.

This year's gig follows a hip-hop theme, with chart-topping rapper J. Cole ("Work Out," "Nobody's Perfect") presiding over the proceedings. Cole will be joined by rapper/musician/comedian/television actor Childish Gambino aka Donald McKinley Glover, one of the more compelling figures on the modern hip-Hop scene.

As ever, Fall Fest will present an up-and-comer in the opening act slot this year, with newcomer French Montana whose debut effort, featuring duets with hip-hop heavweights Rick Ross, Drake, and Lil Wayne will be released in the late fall.

UB students will be admitted free with valid student ID on Saturday. General admission tickets for the public are $35 (Ticketmaster).?
