Nickname: Gators (4-5)

Coach: Chad Lyter, third season

Outlook: The Gators are counting on two senior linemen to have big years, LT Dakota Woodgie, who played guard the last two years, and RT Jordan Giardini. Senior QB Kyle Stover threw for 843 yards, eight TDs and completed 45 percent of his passes out of the spread option. Look for senior RB Josh Harrington to line up at WR as well. WR/RB/CB Trevin Barber qualified for the state track meet last spring in the small school pentathlon. Junior Todd Mason joins Barber as a WR/CB.

Nickname: Warriors (6-2)

Coach: Paul Furlong, first season

Outlook: Despite returning just three players — QB Tanner John, FB/LB Cameron Caputi and OG/DE Dustin Lewis — the Warriors should be balanced. Expected to contribute right away from the JV are RBs Damien Taylor and Cyrus Spruce. Senior Dakota John, who didn't play last year because of hockey, will shore up the line, along with Lewis. Taking over as coach is Furlong, a 1988 Salamanca graduate who twice led the Warriors to the Ralph in his three varsity seasons.

Outlook: The Class C state finalists return two first-team All-NYS players. Lineman Peter Trathen is a three-year, two-way starter. "It's his year to lead," said Sirianni. The other first teamer is kicker Tanner Hoose, who kicked nine field goals, an impressive seven in the postseason. Jake Pilling, named the Offensive Player of the Game against Waverly last year, returns at QB. The backfield returns junior RB Kevin Bellardo. Ryan Schutte was the Trojans' second-leading receiver last year. Junior Kyle Moran is a solid lineman.

Nickname: Wolverines (4-4)

Coach: Bob North, third season

Outlook: Senior TB Mike Okerlund is at his best out of the I-formation or the power game. He's one of the fastest players on the team, along with WR Jon Coe, a first-team all-league pick. Coe will provide a nice 6-1 target for QB Dylan MacCubbein, last year's backup, who throws a nice ball and can also play safety. FB/LB Cameron Wright has come back after a strong summer. The line returns Bill Nowell, Jordan Ellis and Caleb Genthner. Returning LB Dan Ferguson is among 3 to 4 players from Brocton.
