Liza Minnelli’s concert scheduled for Thursday at Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort has been canceled.
Her publicist said that the cancellation was due to unforeseen circumstances and that he is hopeful she will reschedule the show. He declined to provide further details.
Minnelli, 66, has had physical difficulties in recent years, undergoing two hip replacements and a knee replacement. Several months ago, she canceled a TV appearance because of a broken ankle.
A performance she gave Aug. 11 at the Hollywood Bowl began substantially late, a glitch that shortened the show and was attributed to technical difficulties. The Los Angeles Times reported that Minnelli joked about her condition, saying she belonged equally to Dorothy and the Tin Man.
Minnelli is scheduled to appear next week at a gala in New York paying tribute to dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov.
Tickets for Thursday’s performance are to be returned to the original point of purchase to obtain a refund.
