The diversity of this year's Thursday at the Harbor lineup is certainly one of its strengths, and this week's show underscores that fact. We've had everything from post-punk to indie-rock, world beat to jam-prog at the Erie Canal Harbor Central Wharf this season, and although a few performances have been a bit uneven, all of have been worth seeing, and all have brought diversity to downtown.
Now, add the 1990s hip-hop/pop/R&B of Salt 'N' Pepa to the mix. The Grammy-winning duo, revered for club jammers like the salacious "Push It," the swanky "Shoop" and the sultry "Shake Your Thang," will more than likely transform the Harbor into a dance club on Thursday. In the process, they'll be representing R&B and female empowerment on the 2012 Harbor roster.
As always, the Thursday at the Harbor shows commence at 5 p.m. Admission is free. Additional information is available through www.buffaloplace.com.
