Incorrigible, unrelenting and as in your face as ever, the music of Boston's the Mighty Mighty Bosstones is considered ground zero for the punk-ska and ska-core movements that followed the band's mid-1980s breakthrough.

Led by the sandpaper growl of vocalist Dicky Barrett, the Bosstones have consistently achieved what so many of the band's imitators have failed to achieve -- the creation of an addictive blend of punk energy, ska vibrance and rhythm section muscle, serving memorable songs.

Currently on its "Summer Vacation 2012" tour, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones bring the plaid, the attitude and the horn section to this week's Thursday at the Harbor stage, along with guests Ron Hawkins & the Do-Good Assassins. Buffalo's own killer punk ensemble, Wolf Tickets, will get things under way with a set starting at 5:30 p.m. Admission is free.
