The Village Board on Monday will hold a public hearing on a resident’s request to keep bees in the backyard of her home on Broadway, near Aurora Street.

Betsy Moll is seeking the board’s permission to set up a honey bee hive in her yard, after first notifying all of her neighbors of her intent.

The public hearing will be held at 7:15 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 5423 Broadway. The regular board meeting begins at 7.

Also this week:

• The School Board meets at 7 p.m. Monday in the William Street Elementary School, 5201 William St.

• The town Industrial Development Agency will hold a public hearing at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday on a request from Uniland Development Co. for a package of tax breaks to support the move of a tenant into a vacant, 122,000-square-foot building at 3344 Walden Ave., Depew.

Xpedx, a supplier of packaging products, facility maintenance products and printing supplies, would lease the building from Uniland and consolidate operations there that currently are done at facilities in Cheektowaga, Rochester and Erie, Pa.

Uniland is seeking a payment-in-lieu-of-taxes, or PILOT, agreement and mortgage recording tax and sales tax exemptions. The IDA meeting will be held in Town Hall, 21 Central Ave.

• The Lancaster Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a Holiday Business After Hours party on Tuesday at Eddie Ryan’s tavern featuring free appetizers and happy-hour drink prices.

The cost is $5 but there is no charge if you bring a non-perishable food item to donate. The event runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at 50 Central Ave. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP by calling the chamber at 681-9755.
