Echo Art Fair features several events throughout the weekend. Here's a look, with more info at www.echoartfair.com:
*The main juried Echo Art Fair runs from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in the Larkin Center of Commerce (710 Seneca St.).A$50 VIP preview party is at 7 tonight.
*Eleven site-specific sculptures and installations as part of Echo are located in the Larkin Center of Commerce and various spaces in nearby Larkin Square. The installations are by Patrick Robideau, Kristina Siegel, Jan Nagle, virocode, Michael Bosworth, Scott Bye, Jody Hanson, Darryl Lauster, Mark Lavatelli, Marissa Lehner and the TH&B collective. Tours of the installations, led by organizer Joanna Gillespie, start at 11 a.m. Saturday and at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Larkin Square boardwalk.
*"Art Collecting 101," a panel on the ins and outs of collecting moderated by local collector Gerald Mead, is at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Filling Station (745 Seneca St.).
*"d'echodance," a dance party organized by Tony Billoni and featuring DJ Cutler, gets going at 9 p.m. Saturday in the Dnipro Ukranian Cultural Center (562 Genesee St.). Tickets are $5, with proceeds benefiting the Give for Greatness cultural fundraising and outreach campaign.*The Art Market, a mini-fair not directly associated with Echo and featuring work by a dozen or so local artists and organization, runs from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The market will also feature performances from local bands Lazlo Hollyfeld, the Tins, the Albrights and the Larkinville Players.
