Who?: Keyboardist Ronnie Davis (aka LeeRon Zydeco) and vocalist Sue Kincaid.
What?: Soul-drenched R&B, funky pop, jazz-tinged blues.
Why?: There is abundant joy in the music of Davis and Kincaid. At times, the ensemble's hybrid of musical stylings suggests what it might sound like if Bonnie Raitt fronted Steely Dan. Kincaid's singing -- supple, blues-soaked, sensual -- is perfectly complemented by Davis' delightfully quirky pastiche of keyboards and synthesizers.
What's next?: A release party for the duo's debut disc, "Chemical Skies," is at 8:30 tonight in Shango Bistro & Wine Bar (3260 Main St.).
