For his new disc, "Thank You Camellia," Season 8 "American Idol" winner KRIS ALLEN took things into his own hands—and heart. Not only did the pop singer co-write each of the 11 songs—using love as his starting point—Allen was also involved with the recording and production processes as well.

"There's a lot of heart in the album," Allen says on his website. "I spent a lot of time on these songs; my blood, sweat and tears went into making them work."

Allen will be sure to sing some of those tunes when he headlines a great night of music with Mat Kearney, Andy Grammer and Graffiti 6 in the annual "Starry Night in the Garden" event at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Garden (2655 South Park Ave.). General admission tickets are sold out, but VIP tix (at $100 each) are still available ( www.tickets.com).
