Eric Church, whose scheduled appearance as the headliner of WYRK's Taste of Country concert at Coca-Cola Field was canceled June 1 because of high winds and safety concerns, will return to this area June 28 for a make-up show.
Church will perform at Darien Lake Performing Arts Center, with opening act JT Hodges, because scheduling issues prevented WYRK from holding the return performance at the downtown ballpark, the radio station announced this morning.
Everyone holding tickets for the June 1 Taste of Country show will receive the same number of tickets, at no additional charge, to the Darien Lake show.
Gold Circle ticket holders for the original show are guaranteed first priority for reserved seating at the upcoming concert. No additional new tickets will be sold for Church's return performance. Gates open at 6 p.m., and the show begins at 7:30.
The decision by concert officials to stop the June 1 show before Church's performance set off an ugly scene inside Coca-Cola Field, with some angry fans throwing chairs, bottles and cans onto the stage after the suspension was announced to the crowd.
WYRK representatives and Church apologized at the time and promised the singer would return to the area soon to make it up to his fans.
