Through a mentoring program with employees of Praxair, Holmes Elementary School in the Kenmore-Tonawanda School District, raised more than $900 to buy toys and a rocking chair for a Catholic Charities visitation room for children in foster care.
> SIMULATED ?ACCIDENT
Students from Cheektowaga High School will experience a re-enactment of a DWI/distracted driving accident at 8:30 a.m. next Thursday at the school, 3600 Union Road, Cheektowaga. The event is sponsored by the school's SADD team. Officials from area fire department, police agencies, Rural Metro Medical Services, the Erie County Coroner's Office and Mercy Flight will be on hand to help educate students and increase awareness about driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and driver distractions.

Neglia Ballet, in collaboration with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and Shea's Performing Arts Center, will present "An Evening of Tchaikovsky" at 8 p.m. Friday at Shea's, 646 Main St. The program will feature "Serenade" and the second act of "Swan Lake."
