Amherst High School Drama Club will present "The Good, The Bad and The Successful," a series of one-act plays, directed by, from left, Caroline Multerer, Georgina Walleshauser, Charlotte Giese and Kate Licata at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the school, 4301 Main St., Amherst. Also, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, the Theatre of Youth will celebrate opening night with a carnival featuring entertainment, food, a petting zoo, pony rides and more. All "Charlotte's Web" ticket holders will receive one free hot dog, drink and six game tickets. The event is open to the public and $5 wristbands can be purchased to receive the same perks as ticket holders. The event will take place at Elmwood Avenue and Allen Street. All proceeds benefit the TOY Transportation Fund, which provides busing for schoolchildren to TOY events.

PENN DIXIE EVENTS

The Penn Dixie Paleontological and Outdoor Education Center in Hamburg will present:

An astronomy program at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Telescopes for viewing the sky will be available. Cost is $3/free for members.

PaleoJoe will present "Dinosaur CSI" at 7 p.m. May 18 at the Gateway Executive Office, 3556 Lakeshore Road, Blasdell. Cost is $5/free for members.

Dig with the experts from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 19 at the Penn Dixie site. Cost is $30/$25 for members. Pre-registration is encouraged.

WINNERS

The 10th annual Erie County Envirothon was held last Thursday with 12 teams from six area schools competing. The Buffalo Homeschoolers Team captured its third consecutive win at the event, which is coordinated by the Erie County Soil and Water Conservation District. The winners, from left, are: Elias Ayoub, Mario Ayoub, Lucas Colon, Abe Kenmore and Alanna Sade-Milberg.
