New Year's Eve, the last day of 2011, is almost here.
It's the night to say goodbye to all the memories made in the year behind us, and welcome in a new year.
So why not end Dec. 31 with excitement to give 2012 the perfect start.
When New Year's Eve comes to mind, we think of all the parties, music, lights, fireworks, confetti and noisemakers. And for the last night of the year, Times Square in New York City is on everyone's television screen as we all count down to the grand finale, the ball covered in sparkling lights that drops at midnight.
The streets of Times Square are filled with thousands of people ready for a magical night. Just watching it all on TV makes you want to get out there and join them. But don't get too crazy, there are many more people there than you could imagine. Go and see our own ball drop right in downtown Buffalo. Every year at the Electric Tower on Washington Street, Buffalo throws a New Year's Eve party that's just as spectacular as the Big Apple. Although Ryan Seacrest won't be your host for the evening, there looks to be a pretty awesome night in store.
Orchard Park native Caitlin Koch and the Jamie Moses Band are both expected to perform. The festivities begin at 10:30 p.m., with the anticipated ball drop and fireworks at midnight.
Or there's always the infamous New Year's Eve party. The kind with all your friends, little snacks and sparkling juice for toasting the year that's behind us and the new one just ahead.
Of course you have to celebrate in your best outfit. Since it is the last day of the year, just go all out and hold nothing back. Join the high energy, and pick out a party dress complete with sparkles everywhere. The bright party dress covered in color and glitter seems to be a top pick. Pair it with some dark tights to make the color stand out even more, and a New Year's crown to top it off.
Maybe you won't want to wear the latest in trends or feel the need to glitter the night away at the event you'll be attending. If so, pick your favorite top and throw on your perfect pair of jeans. Go out in your style.
Looking back on 2011, it's almost a little sad. You had another birthday, started a new year in school, maybe you had an amazing summer -- a lot has happened over the span of 365 days. There's a lot to live up to, but make 2012 even better. Make all your resolutions and live with no regrets.
New Year's Eve is the best place to start. Make sure to have plenty of fun, yell the countdown to midnight as loud as you can and toast with your friends, in the hope that your most memorable year is just around the corner.
Happy New Year!
