If you are searching for something new in music, nothing could be more exciting and different than Il Volo.
Il Volo, which means the flight, is a trio of Italian teenagers with extraordinary voices. The group consists of Gianluca Ginoble, Piero Barone and Ignazio Boschetto, who met on an Italian television show similar to "American Idol." The three had never met before the show but were chosen to sing "O' Sole Mio" together during one episode of the show. Gianluca went on to win the competition but continued to sing as a part of the trio.
The group has a very interesting operatic pop sound. They are different from any group around.
Their self-titled debut album was released internationally in the spring. The album is incredible. Each song -- some original, some already well-known -- has a distinct personality.
"La Luna Hizo Esto," a Spanish song that sounds almost like a lullaby, is as beautiful as "Per Te" is intense. "Il Mondo" is easily the best song on the album.
Altogether, the album is highly enjoyable and a treat for anyone looking for something a little different in music.
