Students, teachers and staff at Frontier High School and Big Tree Elementary in Hamburg united as one last Friday for this aerial photo. The image contains 2,780 people pixels.
"My goal was to represent the number [of people who] died in the World Trade Center on 9/1 1," said organizer Patty Watson of Hamburg.
Special guests in attendance included County Executive Chris Collins, 25 servicemen, 40 first responders, 12 veterans, four injured soldiers and many others.
The morning also included sky divers, an American eagle, a bagpiper performing "Amazing Grace," doves that were released, a performance of "God Bless America" by Vanessa Surez, patriotic music by the Frontier High School Band and a visit by Ashley Bunce, a representative from the Bob Woodruff Foundation "Stand Up For Heroes."
