Well, fellas, it's that time again -- prom season. Not only does this mean that we have to start planning on how to ask a girl to prom, but we also have to make sure that it is "cute and sweet," because let's face it, girls hate it if you ask them over a text message.
If you're going to ask your date in a creative and memorable way, then I suggest that you think of it well in advance and maybe even recruit some of your close female friends to help plan it. Think of things like her favorite flower, sport, or even candy, and go from there. It's not as hard as some make it out to be.
For instance, if she plays tennis, you could fill her locker up with tennis balls and write, "Will you go to prom with me?" on half the tennis balls, and then on the rest write your name so she knows whom she is answering.
Ladies, don't stress if you haven't been asked to prom yet and it's only three weeks away, as we men tend to wait till the very last minute -- trust me, I'm a prime example.
Guys, you should ask a girl as soon as possible so that she has more than enough time to find a dress. That way, when you go in to get your suit and vest, you can match it accordingly. However, if you prefer to take a less expensive route, you could always just wear some slacks, a button-down shirt and a tie to match your date's dress.
Now that the hard part is over, you should at least be thinking of where you'll be dining, and how you'll be transported throughout the night.
Because the majority of high school juniors and seniors already have their licenses, a cheaper route than renting a limo would be to just drive your own car. Let's face it, prom is expensive enough already.
However, if you do decide to rent a limo, you should always plan ahead because limo companies book fast.
Lastly, if you plan on getting your date a corsage or boutonniere to wear for prom, you should order it about a week in advance to ensure it's ready in time.
