Sullivan Fitzgerald, 20, a Lewiston resident who is studying television, radio and film at Syracuse University, got called to "Come on down!" and play "The Price Is Right" recently. The show will be aired at 11 a.m. today on WIVB, Channel 4.

Fitzgerald arrived in Los Angeles in early January to do an internship in script coverage with Atmosphere Entertainment, a Mark Canton production company. He went to see "The Price Is Right" on Jan. 11.

Fitzgerald and his friend, Zach McClure, a Syracuse student from Williamsville, drove cross-country together and are staying with a friend in California. "We thought, 'We're here, we might as well go see the show,' " said Fitzgerald by phone from Los Angeles. The three got tickets and, along with everyone else in the audience, they were interviewed for less than a minute each by a producer. Fitzgerald and the producer bantered about job prospects, with Fitzgerald quipping that he would like "Price Is Right" host Drew Carey's job. "He kind of laughed at that," said Fitzgerald.

During the taping, when he was called to join the other players, "I almost lost it, trust me," said Fitzgerald. "I was the fourth person to be called down, and it was all very dreamlike when it was happening. I was thinking, 'Wow, am I really doing this right now? This is crazy!' "

Besides his parents, Michael and Kelly Fitzgerald, and his sister, Ryleigh, 16, other family members who will be watching the show include his grandparents, Paulette and Tom George and Paul and Marlene Fitzgerald, all of Lewiston; his uncles, Scott George of Grand Island and Pat Fitzgerald of Ransomville; and his aunt, Colleen Daly of Lewiston.
