FREE PROGRAM

The Ellicott-Masten YMCA, 585 William St., will be hosting a program called Prevention Focus to educate youths ages 10 to 18 on life choices dealing with gambling, tobacco, drugs and other risky behaviors. MUSIC SCHOLARSHIPS

Friends of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra Volunteers and the Buffalo Chamber Music Society have teamed up to offer Young Musicians Scholarships worth $3,000, $2,000 and $1,000, as well as Silverman String Scholarships for $1,500. The scholarships are available to high school seniors in Erie and Niagara counties who plan to major in music next fall. Application deadline is Feb. 1. NATURE WALK

Penn Dixie Paleontological and Outdoor Education Center in Hamburg will hold a nature walk at 1 p.m. Sunday. Participants must bring cross-country skis or snowshoes.
