>Bishop Timon-St. Jude

Nickname: Tigers (1-9)

Coach: Al Monaco, fifth season

Outlook: Monaco characterized his team by saying the line is seasoned, but the skill position players are young. Returning two-way starters are OL/LB Andrew Alvira, RB/S Andrew Marinaro, G/LB Tim Ciszek, G/DE Charlie Coughlin, DE/OT Rich Smith and WR/S Jordan Williams. The QB spot will be split between junior Dan Hall and sophomore Ryan Dougherty. John Termini looks to have a big year at CB/RB. The Tigers host rival South Park on Oct. 2. The team opens at Ohio powerhouse Central Catholic.

Nickname: Crusaders (7-5)

Coach: Brandon Harris, fourth season

Outlook: The defending League AA champs return QB Travis Eman, who accounted for five TDs in last year's championship game. WR/FS Theo Russell spent the offseason attending college camps. He knocked almost 1.5 seconds off his 40 time. Look for WR/LB Johnny Davis to be more explosive. WR/CB Pat Glose has added 25 pounds of muscle, and lowered his 40 time. Offseason training has helped LB/DE/TE Kyril Threats go from 180 to 210 pounds. Linemen Jack Plunkett, Corey Madlock and Thomas NeMoyer have tested well in the offseason.

Nickname: Red Raiders (3-7)

Coach: Jerry Smith, 22nd season

Outlook: The Red Raiders have a strong line and solid backfield. RB Akeel Lynch runs a legit 4.5. Austin Zakroczewski may be the best all-around back. Alex Misterman averaged 200 yards a game on JV. Junior DE/OT Joe Smith, a team captain along with lineman Adam Pasnik, is 3.5 sacks shy of the school career record. NG Josh Redden is the younger brother of UB's Adam Redden. Nick Borgese is a real talent at WR/DB, as well as kicker/punter. Spencer Rubeck has the edge competing with four other guys for the QB spot. Top LB are Jim Cushman and RauDric Parks. JVs were 9-0.

Nickname: Marauders (5-4)

Coach: Dennis Gilbert, first season

Outlook: RB Nick Hall rushed for 700-plus yards last year and also had 400 yards in receptions. Patrick Papia, Joe Adinolfi and James McClary will start both ways on the lines. Junior QB Chad Kelly, a transfer from Pennsylvania, is the nephew of former Bills QB Jim Kelly. A solid kicking game gives the Marauders weapons with punter Anthony LaMancusa and kicker Mark Montana.
