Most people who have been paying attention to the media lately are familiar with The Academy Is..., a popular alternative band that’s been making a name for itself over the past few years. The band is currently on the AP Tour Fall Ball, which will be stopping at the Town Ballroom tonight.

Y ou’ve heard the music of alternative rock band Cake if you’ve seen the 1997 movie “An American Werewolf in Paris” or the Powers Whiskey commercial for the Irish Grand National, a horse race. Cake came to Buffalo’s Town Ballroom Friday. And if you’re a werewolf and/or an Irish Grand National fan, there’s a pretty good chance you were there.

E arlier this month, the much-anticipated, second full-length album from Mayday Parade finally hit stores. It has been two years since its debut, “A Lesson in Romantics,” so most fans were eager to get their hands on the latest, “Anywhere But Here.”

Almost all of what Paramore knew was falling apart after its release of “RIOT!” in 2007. Paramore could have been no more after struggles within the band were nearly unbearable. Now, Hayley Williams, Taylor York, Jeremy Davis, and Josh and Zac Farro have returned with “brand new eyes.”
