Rain postpones BDGA women's tournament

News Sports Reporter

Story tools:

The conclusion of the Buffalo District Golf Association's Women's Individual Championship remained in limbo Thursday after heavy rains washed out second-round play at Crag Burn. BDGA officials will decide next week whether to resume play July 29 or revert to first-round scores and declare defending champion Rene Sobolewski the winner.

Sobolewski, who'll be a senior at Nichols, shot 77 on Wednesday and holds a one-shot lead over Natalie Wisniewski, a Williamsville South graduate who will attend Bradley in the fall. Kim Kaul of Gowanda Country Club was four shots off the lead after an 81.
