Tips for family fun by Jane Kwiatkowski

Story tools:

1. Paws, please. Bring your four-legged pal for a photo session with Santa, sponsored by the Buffalo Animal Shelter from 10 a. m. to 4 p. m. Sunday in the student lounge of Erie Community College North Campus. Check out the Chinese Auction. Ten dollars at the door gets your digital print. Add $5, and shoot to the front of the line at 6205 Main St., Williamsville.

2. They don’t make Christmases like they used to. Witness a 19th-century holiday at the Hull Family Home and Farmstead, 5976 Genesee St. in Lancaster. Step back in time with music, food and children’s activities from noon to 4 p. m. Saturday and Sunday. Donation.

3. Play late till 8! Celebrate Sinterklass on Friday at Explore & More children’s museum with a gaggle of Dutch-themed activities including an appearance from the tall bishop himself. Toast St. Nicholas with pizza, why don’t you? Five dollars gets you in. Three more for food, served from 5:30 to 7 p. m. Find it at 300 Gleed Ave.

4. FDR uncut. Mark Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day with a dose of America’s wartime president Franklin Delano Roosevelt, as portrayed by Albert McFadyen. The action starts at 2 p. m. Sunday inside Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society Museum at 25 Nottingham Court. Included in museum admission. Armed Forces veterans admitted without charge.
