Sex offender gets prison; viewed nudist Web sites
LOCKPORT—A sex offender who violated probation four years ago by viewing the Web sites of nudist colonies was sentenced to one to three years in state prison Thursday by Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Sperrazza.
Dean E. Goff, 44, of Woodlawn Avenue, Lockport, had pleaded guilty in 2003 to attempted first-degree sexual abuse for molesting boys while he was a counselor at the YMCA’s Camp Kenan in Somerset in 2002. Prosecutors said Goff exposed himself to as many as eight boys and fondled another while applying cream for a heat rash.
In another probation violation case Thursday, Sperrazza sent a 21-year-old Barker man to the county jail for a year.
The man, who was granted youthful- offender status when he pleaded guilty in 2006 to second-degree sexual abuse, admitted having sexual contact with an adolescent girl in Somerset in 2005. The defendant was arrested on a drug charge Aug. 18 in Lockport, violating his probation.
