Car pulling out of lot hits, injures bicyclist

A 53-year-old bicyclist from East Amherst was taken to a local hospital after being struck by a vehicle on the Clarence side of Transit Road late Friday afternoon, Erie County sheriff’s officials reported.

Robert M. Muscato was taken to Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst, following the accident, which was reported at about 3:55 p. m. on Transit Road south of Klein Road. No hospital spokesman could be reached to provide his condition Friday night.

The driver, Mai Thi Bui, 31, of Cheektowaga, was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way.
