Blasdell drug dealer facing 7 and a half years in prison
A Blasdell man was sentenced to 7 1/2 yearsin federal prison after pleading guilty to distributing cocaine and possessing a firearm in the furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime, U. S. Attorney Kathleen M. Mehltretter said Thursday.
Deron L. Adams, 31, sold cocaine to two undercover law enforcement agents in January 2008, which led to a continued investigation and raids on Adams’ home and vehicle.
Items were seized in a March 24, 2008, raid, including equipment used in a marijuana-growing operation in the basement of the home and marijuana, according to to Assistant U. S. Attorney Mary Clare Kane. Also found was 2 ounces of powdered cocaine, 9mm ammunition and a digital scale, as well as $18,000 in cash in bedroom safes, Kane said.
Adams, who has been in custody since the bust, also was ordered to forfeit the money, vehicle, weapons and ammunition.
