Second-time felon gets 4 years in prison
LOCKPORT—A Niagara Falls man was sentenced to four years in prison Thursday for drug possession.
Javon J. Ellison, 20, a second-time felon, had pleaded guilty to fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance for having about one-third of an ounce of cocaine when Niagara Falls police arrested him after a traffic stop March 13, 2008.
Ellison is expected to receive an additional six years in federal prison when he is sentenced on a drug charge in U. S. District Court in March, defense attorney James J. Faso said.
“You’re really wasting your life, Mr. Ellison. You need to get your act together,” Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Sperrazza told him at Thursday’s sentencing.
