Appleton man accused in M&T Bank robbery
LYNDONVILLE—An Appleton man is accused of holding up the M&T Bank at 3 S. Main St. about 12:15 p. m. Thursday.
Christopher E. Doulin, 22, was charged with robbery, grand larceny and falsely reporting an incident.
Doulin handed a note to a teller demanding cash and threatened to detonate an explosive, police said.
Doulin fled in a pickup that was followed by a witness who called 911. State troopers from Albion tracked the vehicle to a house on Route 18 in Carlton, where Doulin was apprehended, police said.
Doulin appeared Thursday in Yates Town Court and was taken to Orleans County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail or $50,000 bond.
Authorities said they recovered the money and clothing worn during the robbery. No explosive was found.
