Oktoberfest food stolen from church in Newfane
NEWFANE—Food for Faith Lutheran Church’s Oktoberfest was stolen during a recent break-in at a new storage area, Niagara County sheriff’s deputies said.
Rev. Gary Seefeldt told deputies Saturday that sometime in the previous three days, someone had pried open a door to the storage area, then broken a window to enter his office. A door to another office also was damaged.
About 4 pounds of bratwurst was stolen from a freezer, and several other packages of meat were opened, necessitating their disposal. A computer keyboard and printer were also reported stolen. Total loss was estimated at $240.
